November 2013. A morning at Bryce

Jim and I got up at 0430, more or less as usual, and set off in the dark from Escalante to Page, via Bryce. We got to the top of the scenic drive before the sun did, despite having stopped at every overlook en route, and then worked our way back down as dawn transitioned to day. The scenes have all been seen and photographed before, but it still seems magical to be there oneself. The desire to record one’s own images proved irresistible. It seemed peculiar that we had the place to ourselves — until the tour buses began to roll in about the time we were ready to roll out. The timing worked out great. Now for morning coffee.

Here are a few of my favorites. Not sure what happened to my captions or to the format. The software updates more rapidly than I do.
