About

I am a retiree from another world, currently interested in exploring parts of the visual, tactile and emotional environments in which we live. The dimensions of my exploration include, at neophyte/amateur levels, photography, drawing, and reading cognitive neuroscience, cosmology and philosophy of science.  How do we co-create the realities that we inhabit?  What is it that we attend to?  Why?

A couple of notes of thanks are due for getting me going in photography.  First, Petter Ogar came for a sabbatical semester carrying the same point-and-shoot camera that I had, but getting much better results with it.  We enjoyed shooting together, and while it was not exactly a competition, we did compare images.  My desire to improve led me to Jim Block, whose enthusiastic teaching and encouragement led me to purchase a “real” camera (Jim’s word) and to learn more about photography basics and some Photoshop skills.  See Jim’s website, http://www.jimblockphoto.com/, to see the courses he offers and samples of his work.

Thanks, guys. I’ve enjoyed learning from you and traveling with you.
